Prestige is always our go-to cleaners for my husband's Santa suit. There is a risk of the red fabric bleeding onto the white fur, but Prestige has always done a marvelous job in keeping the colors from blending. I had my daughter's Homecoming dress dropped off for cleaning. Was given a pickup date for the evening before. Called AND THE DRESS WASNT READY AND WAS TOLD EVERYONE HAD GONE HOME FOR THE DAY!!! Highest Recommendation. I congratulate Eddie Mannis, Owner, for running the absolute best dry-cleaning retail operation I have ever experienced in my lifetime. I drove a 5-hour round trip just to bring three vintage garments to the main plant on Taggard Lane. I trusted no one else.
The customer service is unmatched. Samantha and Bonnie welcomed me warmly at the counter and patiently documented my request to have an expert determine the best cleaning method for each unique piece. Later on, a plant specialist carefully evaluated the garments. The personal touches continued afterward: Amanda and Eydi sent a thank-you greeting to welcome me as a new customer, and Jennifer provided clear email updates through every step of the process.
When I picked them up, (another 5-hour round trip) my vintage garments were cleaned far beyond my expectations. I have never seen this level of dedication from any business. Prestige Cleaners truly cares about its customers. Thank you!

I had a very disappointing experience with Prestige Cleaners on Kingston Pike and feel other customers deserve a warning. Then I got a call from Brandon Palmer from this location that continued dismissiveness and inconsistency.
I took in several pairs of pants and a casual dress from Temu (that cost me approximately $20) to get hemmed. In the past, I had paid around $15 per pair of pants for hemming, so I had no reason to expect anything DRAMATICALLY different for the dress.
When I picked up my items, I was shocked to discover they had charged me $50! just to hem the dress, more than double what I paid for the dress itself!
When I questioned the charge, Robin at the front counter (who said she was a manager when I asked for one) told me it was because I had brought in a “formal dress.” It was not a formal dress. It was an inexpensive, casual Temu dress. I explained that I had even told the seamstress how inexpensive the dress was when I dropped it off because I never would have agreed to a $50 alteration on a $20 dress.
Robin’s response was dismissive. She said, “Somebody could tell me it’s a $10 dress. It doesn’t matter how much it cost.” While I understand that alteration pricing isn’t necessarily based on the value of the garment, that’s exactly why I believe customers should be told the approximate cost before work begins, especially when the alteration will cost more than the item itself.
My experience when dropping off the dress wasn’t pleasant either. I arrived around 3:18 p.m. and asked for alterations. Robin looked at her watch and said, “Well, I mean, she’s getting ready to go, but I guess you can see if she’ll see you.” Prestige Cleaners is open until 6:30 p.m., and there is nothing posted indicating the seamstress leaves much earlier. The interaction made me feel like I was inconveniencing them simply by coming in during normal business hours.
Afterward, I spoke with Brandon Palmer, by phone, who I assume is a manager. Unfortunately, the conversation only made things worse.
He told me that I should have asked what the alteration would cost before agreeing to it. However, he also said they couldn’t tell me a price beforehand because they don’t know exactly how much hemming or cutting will be involved until they do the work. Those two statements completely contradict each other. How can it be my fault for not asking if your business says it can’t provide an estimate anyway?
He also tried to justify the $50 charge by saying that although it wasn’t a formal dress, it was a “formal alteration” because the hem went all the way around the dress. Of course it went all the way around, that’s how dresses are hemmed! Calling it a “formal alteration” because it was a full circular hem didn’t make the charge feel any more reasonable.
I explained that if anyone had simply said, “This alteration is going to cost around $50,” I would have thanked them, declined the service, and returned the dress instead. A simple conversation could have prevented this entire situation.
I suggested they post pricing guidelines or at least provide customers with an estimate before performing expensive alterations. Brandon refused to offer any meaningful resolution. He said he couldn’t issue a partial refund because he would have to refund the entire transaction, which made little sense to me since partial refunds are common in many businesses. Instead, after the rude treatment I received, he offered me a $15 store credit toward future services.
Needless to say, I declined. After this experience, I have no desire to return.
My biggest complaint isn’t just the price, it’s the lack of transparency, the contradictory explanations, and the dismissive way I was treated by both Robin and Brandon. Customers should be told when an alteration will cost significantly more than expected, especially when it exceeds the value of the item being altered!
Buyer beware: Ask for an estimate, but apparently they can’t tell you, before leaving anything for alterations, because you will not know the cost until it’s too late.

We were notified of an impending fatal diagnosis and needed to have a suit cleaned and altered. We took it to the Emory Road location on last Friday and was told it would be ready the next Friday! Great! Then on Sunday we were told the family member had passed away! We needed to leave town on Wednesday! Monday I called and explained and was told they would rush the suit! It was ready Tuesday morning!! I can’t thank you enough!!!

We took a Pottery Barn rug to be cleaned. I’m giving two stars because it is now clean but also ruined.. It is stretched with permanent buckling and several depressions where they hung it up.. I chose Prestige because they are close to home and offered the same service and price as a rug company that only cleans rugs in Knoxville. I should have made the trip. If you need a rug cleaned go to a rug professional.

I brought maybe 6-7 suits plus 20-25 white shirts in. I ask to press/crease the pants, suit lapels, and sleeves in the shirts. I was told that is included. I picked up my order and NOT 1 of the shirts had the sleeves pressed/creased, NOT 1 of the suit jacket lapels where pressed/creased, and my pants were only creased half way up the legs. The name prestige should set your business apart from others but apparently it doesn’t. Very disappointed. We use to come there but changed for several reasons but decided to return. I guess that was not a good decision.

I've used Prestige for many years. Sadly, I think their process and customer service have taken a step or two backward. On three separate occasions over the past three years, I've had shirts ruined because of some kind of solution that has splashed on them, creating bleached or color spots. On top of that, they have a couple of customer service people who aren't truly customer oriented. I had experienced neither of these issues prior. It's been a solid business. Maybe I have just been unlucky.

I have been going to them for years. They do an amazing job, only reason why I’m given them a 4 star instead of a 5 it’s because of prices. I thought they were extremely high.
I realize pricing will not stay the same and things have gone up tremendously, but just be aware that you are going to pay a pretty penny for your dry cleaning. I guess it’s one of those things that businesses are not responsible if you can’t afford the service, lol, so I understand. Great staff, very professional, beautiful work. Thank you.

The absolute best! I brought in a leather bag with a huge stain and discoloration, and not quite sure if anyone could fix it. However, Prestige Cleaners went above and beyond my expectations! Place ruined the crease, my paints crease is literally on the side of my leg, 100$ paints from dillards, who can’t put a crease right, on top of that they charge a fortune, the most expensive cleaners I have ever been to, been all over the world, Kenya does a better job at a fraction of the price and don’t even have heating and cooled buildings. Rediculous, woke up to get dressed for trip, now have to find another outfit, payed 40$ for 2 shirts and one pair of paints. Roughly 40$. Avoid this pot at all cost.

I had two lined cotton blue and white Toile drapery panels hemmed 11inches shorter plus cleaned for first time in 20 years!!! They were cleaned to perfection, white was white again, no yellowing,

We’ve gone a couple times to the location off of Emory. First time, all was fine. Unfortunately this second time bringing clothes,
I did not hear from them on the day items were promised. Come to find out, it seems their non follow-up was due to one of my items being lost. No one reached out to tell us - we only found out when my husband went to check on our clothes a couple days after promised. They assured us they would find the item and follow up. That was over a week ago. Crickets. Sadly, this was a designer top that I’ve only gotten to wear once.
I’m concerned about bringing clothes there in the future.

My puppy damaged a pair of my pants near a front pocket! I was told that the lady who was to attempt to repair the pants would not be able to fix the damaged pocket! When I picked the pants up, they had repaired the damaged pocket better than I expected!
I was very surprised and pleased!

I don’t take clothes to the cleaner often but I had an upcoming wedding so needed some last minute shirts cleaned and starched. I stopped by the Powell location was assisted by Amanda both on the initial drop off and pickup. I needed the shirts by the next morning and she said that wasn’t a problem. She was pleasant and helpful on both occasions. While the shirts turned out good, in theory any cleaner could have done that but having great team members like Amanda makes all the difference. I would recommend the location in Powell because of Amanda. Great job!

My experience this time wasn’t as good as previous times. I went to the Merchants Drive location still listed as open in Apple Maps and still using an active phone number stating the Merchants Drive address. When I arrived, however, it wasn’t there. I called the corporate office and spoke with an Amanda there. Amanda told me that the location closed in December and hung up. Clearly, she was inexperienced and didn’t know to refer me to another location even one just a few minutes away. I drove back to work almost an hour away, because I had a meeting to go to.
When I had time, I emailed their corporate office. I later called the Taggert location, speaking to another Amanda who was very helpful, learning that the Taggert location was only a few miles from the Merchants location.
I later got an email back from Jason Thurman and was told that they communicated every way they could about the closure of Merchants location and that the Taggert location was nearby. I screenshot shot their still active listing for Merchants on Apple Maps and sent it to him.
Crickets ….
When I dropped my clothing off, I was also given a receipt that said it would be ready for pickup at 6:00pm on Wednesday. I didn’t receive a text on Wednesday letting me know that it was available, so I texted them.
Also, crickets ….
I called them mid-morning on Thursday after not hearing back from them and spoke with Amanda at the Taggert location again to learn that my dry cleaning was not done, but they were taking care of it at the time. She later called back to tell me that it was available for pickup, which I appreciated.
As of today, the Merchants location is still listed as an active business on Apple Maps.
It’s clear that Prestige is going through some changes and needs to get some things cleaned up, but my dry cleaning was still done well.
I know that I’m not the only one experiencing these inconveniences, but I hope everyone will bear with them, as I have, while they get back up to their previous standards.
I do appreciate them sending me this link asking for the review, especially since I’ve already contacted them, and they knew of my experience. In my opinion, that speaks very well of them to want all sides presented in their reviews. I trust that they will update their phone listing to state that the Merchants location is closed and will also update their Apple Maps information to closed or to redirect them to an open location.

Prestige Cleaners is pricey, but the best always is. Their cleaning services are great, but I am most grateful for their cold storage of furs. In Knoxville, only Prestige offers this special service, and I am grateful that they agreed to assume that role for their customers when the sole cold storage furriers in the city retired. I called them the day before Christmas eve and ask them if they could have a soup ready by Christmas and it was at least 10 o’clock by this point in the morning and he told me if I could have it there in the next 15 to 30 minutes that they can do it I took it down there. They did it. They called me the next morning told me it was ready. I went and picked it up it was they actually told me they was gonna charge me 20% extra because of the rush which I was willing to pay, and then whenever we went and picked it up, it was very very, very reasonable and especially for it to be the time of year that it was and what they had to do to do it and it was it looks fantastic so I would urge anybody that needs anything done or anything planned This is the place to do it. They saved my stepson’s Christmas. I will never go anywhere else!!!

Prestige Cleaners did an excellent job on cleaning my curtains. They notified me when there was a problem & we quickly resolved it. I was notified by text when my curtains were ready. They even carried them to my car. If and when I need dry cleaning done again, I will use Prestige.

I took my cream colored zip up wool sweater to be dry cleaned. There were stains on the front that I pointed out when I dropped it off. I dropped by to pick it up when I was notified and the stains were still there. They said they would work on it more and let me know when it was ready. I went by after being notified again and this time it looked so much better. I wish it would have been taken care of the first time I dropped it off. I think it was cleaned differently the second time which is why it looked better. I am giving four stars because 99% of the stains were removed. I would have given five stars if it had been done that way to begin with. I will continue to give Prestige Cleaners my business.

Had a couple of items that required zippers and finishing. Could not find anyone to do it but Prestige did and in a timely manner. Our dtr had also used them. They were so nice! Found out they can do all sorts of things. We don't live close but will drive the distance to use them from now on.

I dropped off some suits and shirts for my husband. They were quick, kind, professional, and reasonably priced. The clothes looked great and they even saved something my husband accidentally left in a pocket. I loved that you can just drop it off in a drive-thru as I had two little ones with me.

Lesson for the day: Not all dry cleaners are the same.
I had used a product called Badge Magic to secure patches onto my son’s Boy Scout uniform. Now that he’s an adult I needed to remove patches from areas that are now supposed to be left patch-free, and the Badge Magic left a horrible, black adhesive residue behind. I first took it to Halls Cleaners and they were unable to remove it, and instead ended up making the adhesive worse as it spread to other areas of the shirt. I thought for sure I was just going to have to buy a new uniform shirt, which is expensive. As a last minute, what the heck decision, I decided to try Prestige Cleaners to see if they could remove it. I couldn’t believe what I saw when I picked it up a few days later. It looks brand new! I’m ecstatic!
